Oakland Mapleville Fire District
GENERAL INFORMATION
The District’s annual taxpayer meeting is held on the third Wednesday of September each year for the following purposes:
- electing members of the Operating Committee;
- electing one Tax Assessor for three year term;
- discussion and approval of the upcoming budget;
- receiving the annual reports of the Treasurer, Tax Collector, and Fire Chief;
- setting the tax rate for the upcoming year.
The District operates on a Fiscal Year, September 1st through August 31st. Regular monthly meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
The tax bill statements are mailed each year in the middle of October and are due November 15th. Interest on unpaid taxes will be charged at 12% per annum after December 15th. Payments may be mailed to the address below or paid in person at the Tax Collector’s Office located in the fire station. Please make checks payable to Oakland-Mapleville Fire District. Please do not send cash. There is a secure mail box located at the office entrance for your convenience when the office is closed.
